It might sound strange, but it’s true: A fresh Cinnaminson heat pump installation can lower your energy bills and maintenance costs.
Even if you already have a traditional HVAC system (and a relatively modern one, at that), a new heat pump can still prove to be the superior choice for the following reasons:
Efficiency represents the primary way in which Cinnaminson heat pump installations reduce the drain on bank accounts. Instead of chilling the air in a central location and pushing it through a series of ducts, a heat pump moves warmth from one location to the other.
The clue is in the name you’re probably familiar with: “mini split.” A mini split heat pump divides an air conditioner in two, situating half of the system outside and the other half inside. To cool a space, the indoor half absorbs heat and sends it to the outside half. And to heat a space, the system runs in reverse.
The result is a quiet and effective form of temperature control that uses as much as 50% less energy than old-school HVAC units.
Air conditioning systems need constant care. Ducts and vents can (and do) trap pollutants, and they’ll need periodic cleaning as a result. The main filter will require replacement every month or so. And on top of that, traditional HVAC systems have lots of moving parts that will wear out over time.
In contrast, mini split heat pumps require far less maintenance. Indoor units indeed have filters, but they are almost always washable, and they accumulate far less dust and debris than AC unit filters. There are also no ducts to get dirty, and heat pumps have relatively few moving parts to break. Owners should still check for refrigerant leaks and clean obstructions from around the outdoor unit, but that’s about it.
Thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act, among other federal and state programs, homeowners can receive credits and rebates worth thousands of dollars when switching to a heat pump. You may have to speak with your installer to see if you qualify, but if you do, you could end up saving a huge percentage of your purchase and installation costs.
